This is a 37-year-old woman who was stabbed in the face with broken glass by her sister during an argument.
She sought medical attention, and her wounds were sutured.
The only problem is that they didn’t clean out the wound, and everything that was in between her skin and the piece of glass her sister stabbed her with came along for the ride! After she was sutured up, she noticed foreign material protruding from her eye.
This time, she went to a maxillofacial specialist.
X-rays revealed glass lodged beneath the eye socket, extending into her cheek sinus.
Do you know what else was in there besides the glass? Hair extensions!!!
Under local anesthesia, the surgeon gently pulled on one strand, eventually removing both the hair and the trapped glass. The wound was cleaned and repaired, with no reported postoperative complications. Unfortunately, the attack had already caused irreversible damage to her right eye and loss of vision.
So many questions… why was the wound not cleaned? How did that length of hair extension end up in the wound?

It seems like whoever did the first stitches had damaged eyesight too, if they didn’t spot knuckle-sized chunks of broken glass and six inches of hair extension!
